The ways of meeting oppression (Martin Luther King jr.)
The one thing in this essay that will stay with me is "But in spite of temporary victory, violence never brings permanent peace." Violence was the second method highlighted by Martin Luther King Jr. as a way oppressed people deal with oppression. He suggests that the Negro uses non violent resistance to overcome oppression because it is the only noble and superior method. When I was younger I had what society describes as "anger issues" and I dealt with many of my problems out of anger. I learnt that even if the problem at hand is solved this way, it only creates another problem.
