The Ugly truth about Beauty

 Before I actually read the essay written by Dave Barry I thought it would be comedic, however most of what he said was actually true despite some exaggerations here and there.

The writing made me feel engaged because of the topic as well as the fact that the paragraphs were broken into many different parts which made it feel like an easy read as opposed to everything clumped into one huge paragraph.

The author constructed the introduction by giving us information on Dave Barry, specifically highlighting that he has been called the funniest man in America which right away would grab almost anybody's attention.
